Job Description
We are seeking an Operations Manager for a permanent role based in Gqeberha Eastern Cape.
Duties & Responsibilities
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- Eng / BTech in Chemical Engineering (Chemical Engineering Qualification is preferred. Civil and Mechanical will be considered depending on relevant experience)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in advanced water treatment
- Experience in RO UF Precipitation Clarification will be an advantage
- Previous experience in managing staff will be an advantage
- Understanding of plant health and managing water treatment assets
- Must have MS Office effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Skills in planning attention to detail and process troubleshooting
- Oversee and manage respective Plant Supervisor(s) Production & Maintenance teams within the area of responsibility
- Manage production & maintenance team utilization and performance / output
- Responsible for plant performance and Compliance with contractual quality and quantity KPIs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards
- Take accountability for Safety Performance in accordance with the MHSA/OSHA legal appointment.
- Maintain effective administration and control procedures to meet performance objectives including financial control HR/IR procurement and stock management.
- Continuous improvement and optimization of processes
- Implement and maintain Financial Control with Profit & Loss accountability for the plant(s)
- Monitoring and detail records and reporting on all aspects of the processes ongoing projects
- Ensure efficient resource management of employees to ensure they can meet the performance objectives required of them.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering a professional and high-quality service.
- Client feedback meetings and reporting as required
- Compile Plant Reports and attend client meetings as required
- Monitor plant health and pro-actively intervene to ensure plant availability is optimized
- Effective reporting to the Operations Manager of the area
- Perform plant operational standby duties
