Job Description
Our client a well-established company is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to join their team.
Salary and Benefits:
- Negotiable.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop implement and maintain security policies standards and procedures to protect the organizations IT infrastructure.
- Monitor networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions and respond promptly to incidents.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into all phases of IT projects and operations.
- Manage and support security tools such as firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems antivirus and encryption technologies.
- Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations to reduce security threats and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Investigate and report on security incidents conducting root cause analysis and documenting findings.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends threats and technology solutions to continuously enhance security posture.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to staff to promote a security-conscious culture.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. NIST ISO 27001 PCI DSS).
- Experience with network security technologies such as firewalls IDS/IPS VPNs and endpoint protection.
- Proficient in vulnerability assessment tools and techniques including penetration testing.
- Solid understanding of threat detection incident response and forensic investigation.
- Ability to analyze security logs and network traffic for suspicious activities.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP CISM CEH CompTIA Security or equivalent.
- Proven experience (3 years) in cybersecurity roles preferably within a similar industry.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards applicable to the organization.
