As Supervisor Security you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Support the Safety & Health principles following operational risk management rules regulations procedures and directions.
- Take personal responsibility for self and others safety to prevent harm and fatalities.
- Support a safe and healthy workplace culture.
- Escalate specific risks in the workplace.
- Maintain good housekeeping and escalate.
- Active participation in SLAMs HPHs relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
- Performance and Delivery
- Assess the safety leadership capabilities of direct reports.
- Assess the fitness for duty of team members and take any subsequent necessary action.
- Engage in physical safety checks interventions and coaching.
- Create safety reports and manage analysis of KPIs based on available data.
- Report deficiencies and implement plans to address weaknesses.
- Facilitate continual safety audits to ensure all safety requirements are met.
- Support site visits by internal and external visitors to ensure adherence to site safety systems (including induction).
- Ensure that all access control systems processes and equipment are maintained and managed efficiently and effectively. This includes perimeter fencing and entry and exit control points and systems. The above measures are taken to ensure that the entry and exit of all goods and people to and from the mines premises are monitored and controlled in accordance with safety and security standards.
- Oversee and ensure that crime prevention and detection systems and processes are maintained and managed effectively and efficiently. This includes perimeter patrols lighting alarms and early warning detection mechanisms.
- Properly plan systems/processes that would ensure that all incidents of alleged criminal acts are efficiently and effectively investigated brought to acceptable conclusions internally and handed over to external agencies (such as the SAPS) in the event of civil law infringements.
- Ensure that effective emergency response systems processes and equipment are in place to provide the mine with a compelling first and last line of defence in the event of any external threat to the safety of employees or the protection of any of the mines assets. This excludes medical and fire-related emergency
- response responsibilities as these are held by the mines occupational medical and emergency services functions.
- Develop security procedures for service providers and ensure implementation and adherence.
- Compliance:
- Ensure that all local compliance requirements are met as a baseline for site performance.
- Follow all relevant Anglo American compliance standards related to Safety/Security and ensure team compliance.
- Abide by all applicable regulations policies and procedures while acting at the next higher level when required.
This role is in the Safety Health & Environment (SHE) department at a Band 7 level reporting to the Section Manager Security
Qualifications :
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Relevant National Diploma in Security Management or equivalent (NQF5)
- SA Drivers Licence
Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with safety standards in the mining industry.
- Acquired experience in security management processes specific to the mining industry.
- Gained experience in investigation and report writing.
- Understand company policies and procedures.
