Job Description

Introduction

In the Team Lead Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence role you will be responsible for designing and developing ETL data integration data warehouse performance tuning and BI reporting to deliver dashboard/reporting solutions to the business.



Role Purpose

You will be responsible for designing and developing ETL data integration data warehouse performance tuning and BI reporting to deliver dashboard/reporting solutions to the business.



Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the CIO to ensure a proper team well equipped for this practice is established and maintained in Guardrisk
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architect in selecting the right tools and solutions including architecture for the solution at hand
  • Ensure a well thought through BI strategy for Guardrisk
  • Be an experienced handson technical leader and work side by side with your team constantly empowering them to become more effective
  • Foster a culture of highquality and strong software development practices in the team
  • Drive innovation and the technical vision of the team
  • Inspire and motivate a high performing team to achieve great results while supporting individual growth and development
  • Communicate and collaborate with multiple areas across the company
  • Play a lead role in establishing data management best practices to ensure data accuracy and quality
  • Set team objectives and monitor progress towards achieving them
  • Participated in the analysis design development troubleshooting and support of an enterprise reporting and analytics platform
  • Designed constructed tested and implemented reporting visualization and dashboard processes that present reporting at summary level with functionality to drill down into detail
  • Developed BI solutions using SQL ETL scripting business intelligence tools database programming and reporting tools on the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS SSAS SSRS MS SQL Server Power BI Azure Synapse ADF AAS Sparc Data Lakes Databricks)
  • Integrated with diverse source systems (including but not limited to: InHouse Vendorbased Onprem and Cloudbased solutions and Office 365)
  • Worked with DevOps team and participated in testing of all databaserelated changes and application updates
  • Contributed to business continuity documentation through Azure DevOps
  • Performed code reviews of the team and identify errors and provide feedback to relevant parties
  • Experience in extremely large data volumes is a plus


Requirements
  • Appropriate 3/4year IT qualification
  • Relevant Microsoft certification (MCSA/MSCE)
  • Exposure to the full BI development life cycle
  • At least 7 8 years experience in data analytics/business intelligence
  • At least 3 years Management/supervisory experience
  • Relevant industry experience in insurance


Competencies
  • Analytical skills
  • Understanding of insurance / accounting principles will be highly beneficial
  • Knowledge of Data Transformation Services File Transfer Protocol
  • Intensive troubleshooting knowledge
  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • Knowledge of BI concepts and architecture and design concepts
  • Knowledge of ETL and data analysis with a focus on data integrity
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS SSAS SSRS MS SQL Server Power BI Azure Synapse ADF AAS)
  • Proficiency in software tools (Power BI Visual Studio SQL Management Studio etc.)
