Our client is looking for a Warehouse/Boxing Supervisor to join their team in Cape Town WC. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing all warehouse operations including receiving storage dispatching stock management team leadership hygiene compliance maintenance oversight reporting and adherence to standard operating procedures. The role is key in ensuring stock accuracy operational efficiency and compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate receiving of goods and verify against purchase orders
Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and storage practices
Oversee preparation and loading of dispatch orders
Conduct stock counts and manage inventory discrepancies
Lead and manage warehouse team providing training and performance management
Ensure compliance with hygiene food safety and safety regulations
Identify equipment maintenance needs and oversee prompt repairs
Prepare operational reports and communicate with stakeholders
Monitor operational metrics such as tonnage credits and stock discrepancies
Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures
Requirements:
Matric Certificate
Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Logistics Supply Chain Management Business Administration or related field (preferred)
Relevant certifications (CSCP CPIM) advantageous
Proven experience in warehouse management logistics or operations within the food manufacturing industry (can substitute for formal education)
Leadership and team management skills
Strong planning organizational and process improvement skills
Knowledge of food safety hygiene and occupational health standards
Technical proficiency with warehouse equipment and ERP systems
Strong conflict resolution customer service and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work overtime stand for long periods and travel between sites as required
Reliable vehicle required
