Job Description

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Effectively audit plant sampling and sample preparation facilities.
  • Effectively audit equipment used for mass density and flow and volume measurement.
  • Continuously liaise with the Evaluation Department on business strategy and policies.
  • Assist in the monitoring of evaluation indicators and trends in the organization and identifying optimization proposals.
  • Effective two-way open communication with teams.
  • Develop a trusting and mutual respect relationship with internal and external service suppliers to the function.
  • Support and participate in the training and development requirements of employees in terms of work practices.
  • Manage and monitor improvement projects that will improve accuracy and precision or protect against risks in the functions
  • Assist in developing business proposals to support evaluation projects
  • Advise clients of the optimum evaluation approaches to support project objectives
  • Effective two way open communication with evaluation teams.
  • Assist with investigating sampling technology for its applicability for projects.
  • Ensure the satisfaction of the customers.
  • Ensure test work is carried out in line with the Group Health and Safety policy.
  • Manage the implementation of evaluation technology and systems on projects.
  • Monitor the performance of evaluation systems installed to ensure that they meet specifications and to gain knowledge for future projects.
  • Support for ad hoc projects such as stock take and/or evaluation audits.
  • Monitoring and understanding of Evaluation tools techniques and methodologies to support business initiatives at operational level
  • Understand operations and Group requirements with respect to evaluation systems as well as surrounding systems e.g. metal accounting
  • Ensure enhancements to current systems are efficient and effective with respect to requirements resources and costs.
  • Manage development of enhancements and effective implementation.
  • Develop a trusting and mutual respect relationship with internal and external service suppliers to the function.
  • Support and participate in the training and development requirements of employees especially in terms of new systems.

This is at a band 7 Level and reporting to the Evaluation and Metal Account Coordinator.


Qualifications :

  • Grade 12 with Maths and Science
  • PSDP for Sampling and Evaluation

IMPORTANT: applications without qualification related attachments will not be considered.

Experience Knowledge and Skills

  • At least four years operational experience in Sampling and Evaluation
  • Experienced in evaluation principles procedures and equipment
  • Superior experience in Evaluation systems used in Valterra Platinum
  • Computer literate for role - advanced Microsoft office certificate
