The Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine is requesting applications for the position of Veterinary Clinical Program Manager. This position is reserved for an experienced registered veterinary technician with substantial evidence for expertise in veterinary education as well as large and small animal clinical skills. This position will work alongside the Director of the Clinical Skills Program to plan organize and develop the clinical skills curriculum in the DVM program. This position includes clinical skills laboratory session management a substantial role in teaching and assessment of DVM addition the Program Manager will ensure instructional coverage of clinical skills labs maintain adequate inventory maintain well-functioning instructional tools and coordinate the day-to-day activities associated with the clinical skills portion of the program. This position may also include assistance for faculty in educational research projects development of low-fidelity clinical skills models and creative approaches to developing skills in DVM students with and without live animals.
An associates degree and Registered Veterinary Technician with minimum 5 years experience and with up-to-date Oklahoma licensure or expectation to obtain licensure through the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners technician certifying exam is required within 120 days of hire. The successful candidate must provide evidence of expertise in both large and small animal clinical skills as well as evidence of proficiency in veterinary education and assessment of learners.
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)Experience in both large and small animal technical skills is required including but not limited to administration of vaccines/medication placement of catheters suturing application of bandages and casts EKG ultrasound and other diagnostic imaging modalities anesthetic induction and maintenance medical math animal handling and husbandry and excellent overall patient care.
Demonstrate leadership of a team through excellent communication delegating tasks enthusiasm for the content creativity and critical thinking; Evidence for proficiency in both large and small animal clinical skills; Effective teaching feedback and assessment ability; Excellent organizational skills and inventory management. The successful candidate must be independent self-motivated and able to maintain efficiency in the program.
Registered Veterinary Technician or equivalent with up-to-date Oklahoma licensure or expectation to obtain licensure through the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners technician certifying exam within 120 days of hire.
Five years experience as Veterinary Technician Specialist recognized by NAVTA.
