Job Description
Chubb Tempest Re is the third-party reinsurance arm of the Chubb Limited Group with operations in LondonHamilton (Bermuda) and Stamford.
The marine & energytreatyreinsurance division is currently seeking anenthusiastic technical and driven individual to lead their team. The individual will be responsible for both maintaining and growing the portfolio through broker and client engagement.
In addition they will also provide coaching and mentoring to assist in the development of junior members of the team.
The candidate must be able to strategize be an effective communicator exhibit good time management and operate within a dynamic team environment.
This role reports directly to the Head of Short Tail.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Interactingwithallstakeholders;brokersclientsotherinternalChubbfunctions.
- Lead the underwriting and processingofnewbusinessrenewalsandendorsements.
- Liaise with brokers and internal departments for credit control claims and riskinformation.
- Analysisofunderwritingsubmissionstoformopiniononriskqualityandappetite.
- Contribute to periodic reports such asproduction exposure summariesand ratemovement.
- ManageaggregationandcatastrophemodellingliaisingwiththeCatTeam.
- Adherencetoallfinanciallegalregulatoryandcomplianceasitrelatestotherole.
- Attendtechnicalpresentationsandtrainingprograms bothinternallyandexternally.
- Traveltomeetwithinternationalclientsandbrokers.
- Provideadviceguidanceandtrainingtomorejuniorteammembers.
- AnyotheradhocdutiesallocatedbytheHead of Short Tail.
Qualifications
- Marine and energy underwriting or broking background either insurance or reinsurance
- Minimum A-Level but preferably Degree standard (or equivalent).
- Competent in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
- ACII qualified and/or working towards the accreditation.
