Agronomist

We are currently searching for an Sales Agronomist for a leading local coop. Alongside having a strong sales background some of the other main attributes that we are looking for is someone that has a strong passion for agriculture and committed to a team approach.

Job Title: Sales Agronomist

Reports To: General Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE: To promote and coordinate agronomy sales in a manner that will optimize the cooperatives market share and savings improve the cooperatives efficiency help achieve the cooperatives mission and goals and result in outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

I. Sales Marketing and Customer Service

• Promotes the sales of all cooperative agronomy and related products to farmer patrons on the basis of sales records marketing surveys scouting advertising development and other promotional methods.
• Prepare plan execute and report a sales program to current and prospective accounts.
• Works to increase market share.
• Works with General Manager to develop sales goals and action plans.
• Monitors the competitions marketing and pricing strategies.
• Continually upgrades knowledge on agronomy products and services.
• Assistance in product ordering and bookings (seed chemical fertilizers)
• Assistance in product pricing
• Inventory management running reports bookings pre-pay
• Logistics and dispatch planning outgoing and incoming
• Soil sampling/field mapping
• Oversee precision ag needs (internal and external)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ag related background/training and/or equivalent background.
• Valid state motor vehicle operators license.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Available to work extended hours when needed.
• Ag background preferred.
