Purpose
The pay for this internship is $15.60/hr. This internship will provide a meaningful experiential learning opportunity. Interns will receive professional opportunities exposure to government officials and operations and attend county-wide professional meetings. Upon request we will work with your college/university to accommodate the requirements of your schools internship program.
Assignment Start:As soon as possible
Hours:Flexible; Approximately 8 to 16 hours per week during normal office hours M-F from 8:00 5:00.
Assignment End:Flexible; End of Fall Semester (Dec. 2025 Jan. 2026); or end of Spring Semester (May 2026 June 2026) depending on hire date and as negotiated with supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education: Preferably currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Masters level program leading to a degree in Accounting Business Administration Public Administration Political Science Criminal Justice Data Analytics Management Legal Studies Public Policy Social Work Sociology Statistics Journalism or a closely related field. If enrolled as an Undergraduate student preference will be given to Senior-level standing. Our ideal candidate will be flexible open to learning new ideas and passionate about serving the community.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint as well as Adobe products and Photoshop software is desirable.
The intern in this program will be given the following tasks:
Learning Outcomes and Deliverables:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including a computer copier calculator facsimile machine etc. Must be able to use body members to work move or carry objects or materials. This position requires: walking standingbendingstoopingpushingpullingliftingfingeringgraspingfeelingseeingtalking hearing and repetitive motions. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/ of light work.

MOTOR COORDINATION:Requires the ability to coordinate hands fingers and eyes accurately in using office equipment. Requires the ability to use the keyboard lift bend push and pull objects or materials using body parts as the position necessitates.
MANUAL DEXTERITY:Requires the ability to handle a variety of items such as a computer typewriter copier audio video and various camera equipment etc. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities.
Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
COLOR DISCRIMINATION:May require the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.
INTERPERSONAL DISCRIMINATION:Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under minimum stress when confronted with an emergency.
PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION:Requires the ability to talk and/or hear: (Talking - expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words). (Hearing - perceiving nature of sounds by ear). Must be able to communicate via telephone.
