- Candidate should able to provide thought leadership and direction. not just do good configurations.
- We want someone who can help guide and lead this team with experience and examples of success.
- Looking for someone that can own our data strategy for Infra & Service on a go-forward basis.
- Specifically these areas : Data Standards Master Data CSDM.
- Architecture of what data lives where how its accessed for reporting and analytics and using it effectively for what drives business value such as proactive activities like monitoring and automated response.
- While we always appreciate thought leadership on these topics from our partners as well this is a role I see as best to be internal so were not overly dependent on our partners as decisions here can have major cost / value implications.
- The thought was we need this of course for this consolidation project can we engage someone in this project to help us during this phase and carry forward to steady state operations.
- Owns Configuration and Asset Management Databases (CMDB and AMDB)
- Define and data model
- Ensure AMDB and CMDB integration
- Align the CMDB structure with ITIL and CSDM (Common Sense Data Model) frameworks
- Define the structure of the AMDB including asset classes (hardware software licenses) attributes and lifecycle statuses
- Define KPIs for CMDB and AMDB health (completeness accuracy compliance)
- Establish governance policies for data quality ownership and lifecycle management
- Define standards for CI naming conventions normalization and deduplication
- Define data validation rules and quality standards
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate data ingestion
- Design integrations with discovery tools monitoring systems cloud platforms and ITSM processes
- Ensure data supports ITSM processes
- Integrate AMDB with ERP systems for procurement invoicing and financial reconciliation
- Work with service owners platform owners and process managers to ensure the CMDB meets business needs
- Provide guidance and training on all CMBD usage and best practices
- Work with IT Asset Management owner for alignment with financial procurement and contract management processes
