We are looking for an Associate Corporate Counsel to sit in our Seattle office and to support our rapidly growing and evolving transportation and logistics businesses. This role supports several last-mile programs and business teams including Delivery Service Providers Amazon Flex Pickup and Return Points and the Hub Delivery program. Our work is intellectually challenging exciting and fast-paced.
You will be the primarily contractual lead across and will structure draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements. You will support the business in solving problems and mitigating risk in creative business-centric ways and you will build processes that address risk and allow our business flexibility and freedom to move quickly. You will also manage programs to implement legal risk mitigations across the business including developing/streamlining business-facing guidance and trainings.
A core component of this role is developing and implementing process improvements: you will help our team use AI and other tools to simplify and automate our contractual processes and to identify and implement mechanisms to help our legal team scale with the business.
Some travel domestic and international may be required.
Key job responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Support contracts across a variety of business teams; develop mechanisms to scale support for these contracts to improve efficiency. Review external facing communications and documentation for legal risk; develop mechanisms to scale how we support these reviews. Lead and manage projects across the legal and business teams to mitigate risk and ensure business compliance. Work cross-functionality to root cause and provide business-forward guidance to resolve issues launch new programs and improve outcomes for our customers.
- 2 years of legal experience - Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent - Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent - Experience in transactional work including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts or equivalent - Excellent organizational skills ability to manage multiple projects at once follow through and meet deadlines.
- Experience providing practical crisp and actionable legal advice. - Experience creating and implementing contractual process improvements; prior experience managing and implementing programs/projects across multiple business teams. - A strong track-record of working cross-functionally to root cause and promptly resolve complicated problems. - Curiosity and a willingness to learn and grow in a team environment.
