Job Title: Commercial Glass Foreman
Location: Richmond VA
Position: Full-time
Were partnering with a well-respected commercial glazing contractor seeking a skilled Commercial Glass Foreman that would be responsible to oversee and to assist with field installation of aluminum storefront frames and associated components. The Foreman will be required to work with various systems and manufactures based upon the project requirements. The Foreman will also be responsible for coordinating work with other trades as well as with the customer.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to read and follow fabrication drawings.
- Proficient with curtainwall and storefront field layout
- Ability to work with the project manager to coordinate and schedule the work
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Ability to work with power and battery-operated hand tools.
- Ability to work from scaffolding platforms and various staging
- Ability to communicate in both oral and written capacities.
- Builds project in accordance with project contract documents plans and specifications.
- Effectively utilizes resources i.e. people equipment and materials.
- Is responsible for day-to-day quality control of work
- Proactively identifies and corrects non-conforming work expeditiously and competently.
- Finishes work as they go so the punch list is short.
- Understands communicates and always enforces safety policy on project.
- Demonstrates a safety conscious behavior for other employees to emulate.
- Is responsible for on-site safety meetings and implementation of effective safety programs.
- Is responsible for meeting all OSHA and VOSHA standards.
- Assures that project is maintained in an orderly clean secure and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems.
- Organized adaptive and goal oriented
- OSHA 10 Certification a minimum 30 preferred
- Fair and reasonable proactive approach with a strong work ethic and a positive can-do attitude.
- One must be able to handle and fabricate all the components required for the assembly being fabricated. The physical demands of an installer include but are not limited to lifting carrying and moving materials/equipment.
