You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWestchester Environmental is looking to fill the position ofExecutive Underwriter tosupport our West & MidWest Region. Westchester Environmental writes both contractors and manufacturers/distributors across a wide array of will be responsible for aggressively marketing to their assigned brokers to bring in opportunities. You will work closely with the respective manager of the region EVP/CUO for Westchester Environmental as well as various Business Development Managers across the region to position this portfolio within Westchester Environmentals strategy for growth and profit.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Underwriting and growing a book consisting mainly of Manufacturing/Environmental Products package Environmental Contractors/Consultants package unsupported excess as well as monoline site pollution and larger CPL accounts
Develops and executes on marketing plan for assigned producers and territories
Negotiate pricing terms and conditions for excess and surplus environmental accounts using assigned underwriting authority and company guidelines
Assess risk and identify risk exposures special or common hazards and appropriate controls
Select and quantify risk based on exposure forecasting methods and risk analysis
Analyzing claims and quantifies losses
Documents the underwriting files with account review analysis and conclusions
Education & Experience:
5years experience underwriting environmental insurance products
Bachelors degree
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with wholesale brokers
Knowledge of environmental insurance industry
Ability to review and analyze environmental due diligence
Ability to review evaluate and develop coverage forms and endorsements
Technical capabilities (ability to work comfortably with various IT systems)
Understanding of risk management approaches including risk transfer
Knowledge of underwriting concepts practices and procedures
Internet usage and research
Detailed understanding of company Financial Statements (Balance Sheet Income Statement 10-K etc.)
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Ability to share knowledge and develop staff
Oral and written communication skills
Negotiation skills
Marketing skills
The pay range for the role is $110000 to $170500. The specific offer will depend on an applicants skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
