Quest () is Houstons Leading Executive Search Firm supporting offshore oil and gas.
We are currently recruiting for a Controller for a Top Tier client of ours in offshore oil and gas.
The Controller oversees all accounting functions and ensures the companys financial integrity by managing payroll accounts payable fixed assets and general ledger activities. This role also involves financial analysis budgeting policy implementation and compliance with quality and safety standards. The Controller will oversee and provide guidance and support to a team of 3-4 professionals in this department.
Payroll and Accounts Payable Management: The Controller manages bi-weekly payroll processing reviews payroll registers and reports for accuracy oversees accounts payable including invoice review and vendor payments ensuring proper general ledger coding and timely payments within cash balances.
Financial Analysis and Budgeting: Responsibilities include comparing actual financial results to budgets communicating variances and trends to management assisting with annual budget development and transferring budget data into financial statements.
Asset Management and Compliance: The Controller ensures proper coding of capital project invoices conducts annual fixed asset audits administers capital expenditure requests trains staff on accounting policies reviews processes for efficiency oversees document recordkeeping ensures transaction approvals and supports continual improvement programs aligned with ISO and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- MBA highly desired
- CPA highly desired
- Experience in offshore oil and gas maritime environment a huge plus
- Minimum 10 years experience in Accounting
- Minimum 3 years experience in Supervisory / Management role
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 ISO 14001 environment
