Job Description
Job Title: Elementary Coordinator
Accountable to: Kids Pastor
Salaried/Hourly: Part-Time (30 Hrs)
Benefits Eligible: Yes

It is expected that those on staff model the following for our congregation:
Abide in Christ
- Personally: There is an expectation that you will have a regular and growing/deepening relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer His Word etc.
- Ministry: It is expected that you will lead your team (volunteer and/or staff) not only in the work but also encouraging them in their walk with Christ.
- This could be prayer huddles each week a verse sent out each week to your team etc.
- Attend Monday 9am prayer meetings weekly with the rest of the staff.
Create a relational culture
- Personally: That you would honor and deal with things relationally the way that Jesus modeled and dealt with things. The world will know we are Christians by our love for one another.
- Serve more than you receive.
- Ministry: We expect you as part of your job to engage relationally with others on staff and in our congregation. The world will know we are disciples by our love for one another.
- If you have a problem with other staff or anyone in our church talk directly to that person first.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
Connect the unconnected
- Personally: We expect that you will be in a small group during the week as we would expect that of any member of our church.
- Ministry: Participate in helping people to move from large environments to smaller discipleship environments.
Equip volunteers to serve
- Personally: Spend time in prayer for God to provide workers for you and VRL. In addition you will personally find people to serve in our church even if its not your own area.
- Ministry. We expect that you are not hired to just do the job but that your primary responsibility is to get the job done with the involvement recruitment and equipping of volunteers.
Share Christ with others
- Personally: There is an expectation that in word and deed outside of these walls you will introduce people to Jesus Christ by your words and actions. Specifically praying and looking for opportunities in your sphere of relational influence.
- Ministry: It is expected that you see how your ministry is reaching out directly or indirectly to those who dont yet know Jesus Christ or are disconnected from VRL. (E.g.
Youre not just cutting flyers as an admin but those flyers will be used in peoples hands as a tool to invite others to experience Jesus.)
Strive to make it better
- Personally: In your home life and outside these walls we do everything to glorify God so do your best as unto the Lord. Have a great work ethic and model grit because of your dependence on Him.
- Ministry: We expect that you will look at ways on a regular basis for how you with Gods leading and volunteers can make the environment that you serve in better. Also that you would look at other areas and make loving comments on how they could strive to make it better in their area and that you are open to them doing the same for you.

Create environments for relational discipleship for Elementary kids at
Valley Real Life.
KEY JOB DUTIES
ELEMENTARY COORDINATOR
- Recruit train release and support volunteers according to VRL policies and procedures which allows others to belong and contribute in Gods Kingdom work.
- Be present on Thursday evenings and Sundays to coordinate Elementary ministry. Weekend absence is in direct relation to vacation weeks available.
- Lead the primary recruiting efforts for Elementary Services.
- Manage 75-100 volunteers in a given weekend to fill Elementary classrooms by using Planning Center to coordinate volunteer schedules and times.
- Participate in all-staff department and direct report meetings to understand Valley Real Life vision and happening and how it impacts Elementary as well as the church so that tasks and programming follow VRL vision.
- Work with the Kids Pastor to develop discipleship opportunities for K-5th Graders.
- Ensure each room in Elementary is stocked with adequate supplies for maintaining a safe clean fun and engaging environment.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Years of Experience:
1-3 years experience in related field preferred.
- Education Required:
Bachelors Degree
- Major/Minor:
Education relating to field of expertise preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses:
N/A
- Management/Supervisor Experiences:
Preferred experience leading volunteers.

EXPECTATIONS
- Attend VRL church services on a regular basis.
- Have attended a DNA class signed a membership form and be in missional alignment with VRL.
- Be in a weekly small group on a regular basis.
- Currently serving in a ministry at VRL.
- Committed to regular giving of income to God through VRL.
- Abiding in Christ and continuing to grow toward Christ-likeness and spiritual maturity.
- Strong interpersonal skills clear communicator and humble-like character.
- Self-motivated and looks for additional areas to contribute.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision & maintain workflow without being asked or tasked.
- Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to make adjustments in work style for the benefit of the team.
- Proficiency in MS Office prior use of office equipment and ability to quickly learn new software helpful.
- This position requires grace under pressure as things are constantly changing which can create an exciting yet frenzied atmosphere.
- Attend monthly All Staff meeting and participate in department meetings or other meetings when requested to do so.
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain
a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of Valley Real Life.
COMMITMENT
With a timeline of 18 months to opening our new expansion and an 18-month timeline to grow into our new space we ask for a 3-year commitment to the VRL Kids team.
