Role Description

Title: Outreach & Development Specialist
Reports to: Director of Communications & Development
Classification: Full-time Salaried Exempt
Starting Pay: $73000 annually


Position Summary. The Outreach & Development Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing outreach initiatives that engage Jubilees corporate civic and faith-based partners through learning volunteering and philanthropy. This position manages Jubilees donor database to maximize fundraising effectiveness provides executive-level support to the Director of Communications and Development helps coordinate events and collaborates closely with internal departments. The ideal candidate is a relationship-focused professional eager to join a collaborative creative team.
This is a full-time position that requires flexible scheduling during the workweek and occasional evening or weekend work. The Outreach & Development Specialists primary location will be Jubilees Kensington office but they will be expected to be present at volunteer sites.

Responsibilities
Outreach and Engagement
  • Develop and implement a menu of engagement opportunities for corporate civic faith-based and individual supporters including learning volunteering and financial or in-kind contributions.
  • Manage the volunteer lifecycle including scheduling supervision project oversight and recognition.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage Jubilees wish list and identify opportunities to solicit in-kind donations.
  • Stay informed on trends in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and employee volunteerism.
Donor Relations and Database Management
  • Manage the gift recording and acknowledgment process to ensure donors receive accurate timely letters compliant with tax law.
  • Serve as an expert in Jubilees CRM (Bloomerang); proactively suggest and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and data quality.
  • Maintain data hygiene by entering new contacts managing and segmenting mailing lists and conducting regular data clean-up.
  • Track and report on donor moves management for Development staff and the Executive Director including following up on cultivation tasks.
Administrative and Event Support
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate data entry and reporting; reconcile monthly financial reports; assist with event and departmental budgets.
  • Assist in planning and executing outreach and fundraising events including an annual breakfast fundraiser and donor recognition activities.
  • Help track grant proposal and reporting timelines; collect data and information needed for grants as assigned.
  • Manage department documents on SharePoint and department projects on ensuring timely progress and follow-ups.
  • Provide executive support to the Director of Communications and Development including managing calendars email and calls scheduling meetings arranging travel and handling other administrative tasks.
Team and Organizational Collaboration
  • Meet regularly with the Community Engagement department to coordinate volunteer handoffs and long-term opportunities.
  • Be a collaborative team member across the organization actively participating in team management agency-wide and strategic planning meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a related field (communications marketing/public relations hospitality human resources business or similar) required.
  • At least three years of related professional and/or volunteer experience (e.g. volunteer management corporate partnerships fundraising communications data analysis).
  • Strong communication interpersonal and strategic thinking skills; use of person-first language is essential.
  • Experience using a CRM database (Bloomerang experience a plus) and/or strong data and analytics skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong project management skills including the ability to plan strategically for multi-step long-term projects.
  • Proficiency with commonly used office technology (MS Office suite videoconferencing tools etc.). Experience using a plus.
  • A desire to work with and learn from people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Compensation. This position has a fixed starting salary of $73000 per year. Competitive benefits include four weeks of vacation health/dental/life/disability insurance student loan assistance paid parental leave retirement periodic reimbursement of vacation expenses and much more.
