Were seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Programs to support and grow our project delivery capability in Medicine Hat AB. This is a key role within QinetiQ Target Systems Canada (QTSC) responsible for guiding program performance ensuring delivery excellence and shaping the future of project management across the business.

Youll support a small team of program and project professionals while also coordinating successful delivery of programs in collaboration with engineering operations customer accounts and business functions. What Youll Do

• Lead the QTSC Programs discipline and support and mentor a team of Program and Project Managers
• Coordinate and deliver selected strategic programs and projects
• Ensure project outcomes meet agreed scope quality schedule cost and risk expectations
• Develop and maintain program management practices aligned with QinetiQs Project Lifecycle Framework (PLF)
• Promote consistent reporting and governances across all projects
• Collaborate with Customer Accounts and technical teams to ensure clear accountability and integration
• Develop detailed project plans and ensure appropriate resource planning
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to support product transition from development to production
• Facilitate resolution of program-level challenges and support cross-functional collaboration
• Champion continuous improvement in project delivery
• Provide regular financial forecasting and contribute to business-level planning
• Support bid teams to ensure executable plans are in place prior to bid release
• Represent QTSC in Sector and Group Program Functions

What You Bring

• Strong understanding of program and project coordination
• Familiarity with engineering processes and product development
• Experience supporting teams through change and transformation
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Collaborative open and solutions-focused approach
• Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to evolving needs
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project
• Knowledge of uncrewed systems Defence industry and commercial contracts (desirable)

Education & Experience

Required:

• 5 years of demonstrated experience managing projects in alignment with PMIs project management standards and lifecycle framework
• 2 years of leadership experience in a project-driven environment including oversight of project managers and project delivery
• PMP certification (or equivalent)
• Leadership or management training (or equivalent)
• Strong financial planning and reporting skills
• Eligible to obtain and maintain required security clearance

Preferred:

• Experience in Defence Aerospace or similarly regulated industries
• Bachelors degree in Engineering Business or related discipline
