The East Central Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) is seeking an Executive Director
Preference will be given to an individual who:
1.) Has had successful educational administrative experience.
2.) Possess a current Colorado Administrator license.
3.) Has a working knowledge of and a clear understanding of what a successful BOCES is;
Preferably has had experience with or within a BOCES.
4.) Has an understanding of Special Education and an Administrative Unit.
5.) Has an understanding of Federal Programs Title & Perkins Programs
6.) Has a strong successful record in creating cooperative environments.
Skills Needed:
1.) Understanding of a BOCES.
2.) Ability to work with and create cooperative teams.
3.) Ability to create and administrate a $10 million budget.
4.) Good communication skills both oral and written.
5.) Ability to facilitate Board and Superintendents meetings.
6.) Facilitation skills to gather information from school districts.
7.) Ability to evaluate staff members and help them reach their potential.
8.) Must have a strong background in education.
9.) Understand current Colorado Legislation and the ability to represent rural school district within this context.
10.) Be willing to serve and represent member districts on local and state committees.
About East Central BOCES:
East Central BOCES serves twenty member rural school districts. These school districts are located along the East I-70 corridor ranging from 26 miles to 180 miles from the Denver metro area. East Central BOCES is considered a full service BOCES which means that the BOCES is involved in any cooperative services that two or more of the member districts collaborate upon and request the BOCES to administer. East Central BOCES is the Administrative Unit for its twenty member school districts administrating their state and federal special education funds. On the regular education side East Central BOCES administers the State Consolidated Application and manages 18 member districts Title I Title IIA Title III and Title IV funds. $117975.00 Minimum salary with a generous benefit package.
