The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) at the Anchorage International Airport is looking for an Administrative Assistant 1 to help usKeep Alaska Moving!


What you will be doing:

As an Administrative Assistant 1 you will provide excellent customer service while processing background checks security threat assessments and issuing airport badges and permits. Responsibilities include facilitating training for federal compliance managing company signatories handling billing preparing reports and ensuring adherence to airport security policies. This dynamic role requires attention to detail organization computer skills and strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

This position is located in the North Terminal at the Anchorage International Airport.

To be successful in this position the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies:

Special Note:

Incumbent must complete training in accordance with 49 CFR Part 1542.213 Trainingbefore performing tasks or assuming the responsibilities of this position. Training must include applicable portions of: Part 1542 Security Directives Informational Circulars and the Airport Security Program.

In accordance with 49 CFR Part 1542 the incumbent must pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) based security threat assessment and criminal history records check with no disqualifying convictions.

Six months of advanced clerical experience. This experience includes work such as Office Assistant 2 Accounting Clerk and similar classes with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.

OR
Six months of any combination of post-secondary education vocational education and/or advanced-level clerical experience. (Three semester or four quarter hours of post-secondary education are equal to one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education are equal to one month of experience.)

Special Note:
Examples of advanced clerical experience include:

-Reviewing complex or questionable applications or documents and searching files and regulations to determine accuracy of information to clarify applicant status; using judgment in applying criteria rules regulations and policies; providing information to organizational unit staff on administrative processes and procedures; tracking expenditures; and completing necessary administrative paperwork according to regulations.
-Composing letters and memoranda; completing and reviewing forms for completeness and accuracy using readily available information from multiple sources and established guidelines and procedures. Examples of such tasks include time sheets appointment paperwork or required drug testing notifications for employees in positions requiring possession of a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

AIRPORT SECURITY BADGE
Candidates for this position mu
st be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542) which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check. The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.
