Class Summary


Job Description
The Grants Division Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the divisions grantmaking and grant administration activities. This position is responsible for setting the divisions strategic direction managing the full lifecycle of grants ensuring regulatory compliance and overseeing financial planning and risk management related to grant operations. The Director works collaboratively across departments to ensure grants are effectively aligned with organizational goals and deliver measurable community impact.

Essential Duties
  • Align grant-making activities with organizational mission and objectives and lead planning for future funding initiatives and partnerships
  • Provide full lifecycle grant management services to departments and elected offices to include researching grant opportunities assisting departments and elected offices in writing grants administering grants to ensure compliance with grantor requirements and Federal State and Local laws regulations codes and/or standards
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of grant applications and awards
  • Manage division employees to include identifying priorities distributing work assignments establishing and maintaining procedures developing employee training plans and evaluating employee performance
  • Monitor grantee and internal compliance with grant requirements
  • Lead audits and resolve findings or performance issues
  • Prepare the annual Single Audit (Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards) for external audit review
Public Speaking Duties
  • Create and deliver semi-annual presentations to the Board of Commissioners County Administration leadership team and Department Directors
  • Create and deliver presentations to County Administration leadership departments and community partners as needed
Grade
The grade for this position is 205. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a closely related field AND
  • Nine years of progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment including two years experience as a manager OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
