Summary of Duties:
As the Early Childhood Program Specialist 2 (ECPS2) at the Childrens Center within the College of Agricultural Human and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) you will assists in implementing the educational curriculum and the general operation of an infant toddler preschool or school age classroom.
Your responsibilities will include: maintaining a safe healthy and developmentally appropriate learning environment assisting in children assessments assisting in planning implementing and evaluating children activities assisting in directing student staff and volunteers assisting with record keeping assisting in maintaining a classroom environment that meets child care licensing and accreditation standards; assisting in evaluating student staff; modeling appropriate nurturing and communication skills with children; and participating actively and positively as a team member with all center staff members.
In the absence of the Early Childhood Program Specialist 3 you may also temporarily assume leadership of the classroom.

This is a full time (100% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3752 to $5011 Range 42 Steps A - M Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

Required Qualifications:
One year of experience in an early childhood program and thirty quarter credit hours in early childhood development/education/special education; OR equivalent education/experience.
Must meet the required criteria of having 12 aligned college credits in Early Childhood Education (ECE) Core Competencies or a CDA (Child Development Associate) within 5 years of hire. See the following links for more information
Must meet and understand the requirements for the following:
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Development OR Bachelors degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
Two (2) years experience with children in a group child care setting.
Proven leadership skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices interacting with young children.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills with parents children and colleagues.
Experience which demonstrates flexibility in dealing with frequent changes and/or crises
