Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Greater West Traffic Department Manager to lead and manage traffic engineering services across the Greater West region including Michigan Ohio Kentucky Indiana Illinois Wisconsin Utah Arizona New Mexico Colorado Nebraska Missouri and Minnesota.

This role is ideal for a collaborative and experienced leader who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality transportation solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with state traffic leaders and regional leadership to confirm consistent project delivery team development and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee traffic engineering services across the Greater West region.
  • Develop and implement a clear vision for the growth and success of the Greater West Traffic Department including project delivery quality and pursuit of new work.
  • Expand and strengthen key technical areas within the traffic division including traffic design traffic safety and traffic analysis and modeling.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration by linking staff and capabilities across the region to promote knowledge sharing and workshare opportunities.
  • Mentor staff in alignment with AECOMs four pillars of career growth: technical excellence project delivery business development and leadership.
  • Cultivate AECOMs mission and values within the traffic department promoting a unified and purpose-driven team culture.
  • Support recruitment onboarding and professional development to build a resilient and high-performing team.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with state traffic leaders ITS/Technology leadership and regional leadership to align goals and confirm consistent service delivery.
  • Represent AECOM in client meetings industry events and professional organizations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients partners and internal stakeholders to achieve client satisfaction and long-term success.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS 10 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 2 years of leadership
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 years of experience in Traffic Engineering Program/Project Management or related fields.
  • 5 years in a leadership/manager capacity.
  • Strong understanding of transportation systems and regional infrastructure needs.
