About Your Opportunity

As the Principal Compliance you will be responsible for leading the design implementation and oversight of compliance risk management strategies and risk assessments including the development of mitigation strategies advice and recommendations. You will lead the implementation of enterprise-wide compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements internal policies and ethical standards. You will be a key advisor to senior leadership and business units providing expert guidance on complex compliance matters and helping to foster a culture of integrity and accountability across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implement fit for purpose Corporate Compliance Management Systems (CCMS) liaising with the business and relevant regulators to ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards and potentially supervising or advising on other regulatory/compliance activities.
  • Develop a framework for identifying assessing and managing risks including implementing policies and procedures that ensure compliance with relevant laws regulations and industry standards and driving ongoing improvement of the CCMS.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of compliance activities track compliance with laws and regulations and identify areas needing improvement.
  • Educate employees and management on compliance responsibilities communicate regulatory changes and offer guidance on addressing compliance issues.
  • Design and implement risk and compliance reporting strategies including the development and execution of complex reports that identify and interpret risk patterns and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Significant experience in compliance legal or regulatory affairs.
  • Experience in successfully navigating change in a complex matrix organisation influencing stakeholders without authority and working with employees at all levels of the organisation to achieve strategy objectives.
  • Experience planning and delivering complex projects to schedule budget and quality requirements.
  • Professional qualifications in a relevant discipline such as compliance project management or law.
  • Deep knowledge and interpretation skills of relevant legislation regulations and AS/NZ/ISO Standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities enabling the development of effective working relationships and teamwork at all levels.

This position will be offered as an individual TFR package with an attractive salary and is a permanent full time role.
