Job Description

Get to Know the Team

The Regional Public Affairs team reports directly to the CEO and leads high-impact projects that align commercial and regulatory goals. The team partners with business teams and public sector stakeholders to drive initiatives that leverage technology for societal impact. You will provide direct exposure to senior leaders and an opportunity to work across diverse business areas to drive strategy.

 

Get to Know the Role

  • The Public Affairs team plays a critical strategic role at Grab. Given the dynamic and often intense regulatory scrutiny across the region this team is essential in navigating complex landscapes engaging with internal and external stakeholders and developing proactive strategy.
  • You will create high-impact change and work with a range of teams across SEA.
  • This role is ideal for a strategy professional interested in the intersection of tech and public policy offering broad exposure and the chance to create meaningful change.
  • You will report to the Head of Regional Public Affairs and be based in Petaling Jaya with travel across Southeast Asia.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • You will:
    • Manage end-to-end delivery of projects from defining clear objectives based on complex business and regulatory needs to coordinating with cross-functional teams and ensuring efficient execution
    • Partner strategy teams on commercial initiatives ensuring strategic alignment between Grabs business and regulatory goals.
    • Co-create with strategy and product teams to adapt business initiatives to the context of current and anticipated regulatory developments.
    • Develop and implement advocacy strategy collaborating with country public affairs and regional business teams to meet public policy goals.
    • Work with country public affairs teams to analyze public policy issues develop positions and provide advocacy recommendations.
    • Orchestrate efforts across multiple Grab teams to address public policy topics cohesively in business operations.
    • Execute campaigns that drive thought leadership and dialogues on key topics e.g. through planning of dialogues forums roundtable discussions policy programmes etc.
    • Support building lasting relationships with governments policy-makers academics NGOs tech industry representatives and other thought leaders in Southeast Asia and globally.

Qualifications :

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in project management to oversee complex multi-stakeholder initiatives from problem statement and objective development to planning to execution; ability to define a clear set of problems / objectives to solve based on ambiguous / complex asks
  • You have an interest in technology policy issues including the ability to identify social and policy implications of business strategy
  • You can bridge business and government objectives translating interests to common ground and developing creative approaches
  • You can translate perception challenges and goals into actionable thought leadership strategies and plans encompassing key messages
  • You have experience navigating dynamic situations to prioritise tasks and time -
  • You have experience in complex stakeholder management to drive understanding and buy-in across diverse teams
  • You have experience presenting insights to senior leaders
