Job Description:
Cameron University seeks a highly strategic collaborative and results-oriented advancement leader to serve as the next Vice President for University Advancement. The Vice President will design and lead an era of innovation in Cameron Universitys fundraising engagement and visibility efforts galvanizing alumni parents friends and the broader community to position elevate and advance the University at an exciting time.
POSITION: As a critical member of the Presidents Executive Council the Vice President for University Advancement will serve as the chief development and engagement officer overseeing Camerons development alumni engagement and community outreach. Providing direction to an outstanding team the Vice President will craft a vision and strategic plan to meet the Universitys fundraising aspirations identify and leverage new corporate and foundation support and ensure consistent engagement and outreach to all constituents with an emphasis on deepening relationships between Cameron and the regional business communities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Job duties include but are not limited to:
Develops and maintains a properly coordinated program of university development and advancement by organizing the various departments of University Advancement in a logical non-duplicative and efficient manner which best meets the work requirements of the division monitoring workloads throughout the division and prioritizing staffing needs accordingly to assure success and assuming ultimate responsibility for the units and functions included in University Advancement.
Ensures divisional support of the institutional mission of the University by reviewing and approving unit plans goals and objectives designing systems of effective controls to guide work toward expected outcomes and evaluating progress towards their accomplishment.
Facilitates the University achievement of its development goals and objectives by serving as the chief fund-raising officer for the University directing a development strategy which includes annual fund campaigns leadership annual giving comprehensive campaigns special-need campaigns and planned and deferred gifts developing and maintaining positive relationships with alumni and donors focusing effort toward and/or developing proposals for potential donors and hosting/sponsoring recognition presentations to donors.
Advises the President and senior University officers on issues relating to university development and advancement by making presentations at meetings of the Board of Regents and preparing reports recommendations findings and other correspondence as required.
F Facilitates programs and initiatives designed to engage University alumni supporters and the external community. Such programs and initiatives focus on engaging widespread participation.
Promotes a positive image and positive external relations for the University by communicating and interacting with city state and other officials in matters related to University Advancement and representing the President and the University in various community state and regional activities designed to promote Cameron University in particular and higher education in general.
Encourages high morale and the delivery of quality service by each employee within the Division for University Advancement through a leadership style which causes employees to strive enthusiastically toward the accomplishment of established goals and objectives.
Ensures that miscellaneous assignments related to University Advancement are completed in the best interest of the University by accepting and accomplishing tasks which are delegated by the President.
Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading developing professional contacts with colleagues attending professional development courses and attending training and/or courses as directed.
Contributes to the overall success of the University by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelors degree
Successful prior service in an advancement organization preferably in higher education or similar complex setting
A clear track record of significant personal success in donor cultivation solicitation and stewardship at principal gift levels
Demonstrated success in or potential for foundation management
Strong managerial strategic planning and motivational skills
A keen understanding of best practices in fundraising engagement marketing and communications
Comprehensive knowledge of major development and alumni engagement functions including campaign and volunteer management
Experience successfully mobilizing staff and facilitating team success
Ability to employ creativity collaboration and adaptation to complex environments to achieve efficient resource management
A deep appreciation and passion for Cameron Universitys mission goals and unique qualities
