VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY
The Department of Biology and Environmental Science at Bridgewater College invites applications from outstanding teachers with expertise in anatomy for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology position starting August 2025.
The successful candidate will join a biology program at a liberal arts college that offers a pre-health program that includes a minor in Biomedical Sciences in support of those students interested in pursuing careers in health care. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Human Anatomy a biology lab course for biology majors and a lecture-only Human Anatomy and Physiology course that serves our health and exercise science majors. Candidates who can teach a graduate level human anatomy course during Summer 2026 will be given special consideration.
QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD in biology health science or closely related field is desired. Exceptional ABD or MS candidates with teaching or clinical experience will also be considered for this position at ranks appropriate to experience
GENERAL INFORMATION: Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as a coeducational liberal arts college to serve the local community. Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley just minutes outside of Harrisonburg and within driving distance of Charlottesville Washington D.C. and Richmond Bridgewater is home to a total student body of approximately 1450 from 27 states and 19 countries. Bridgewater students study more than 60 majors and minors in addition to four graduate programs and 10 pre-professional programs.
