Job Description
Join our growing Index Funds team as an Index Junior Analyst - Analytics and Technology where youll play a key role in developing and supporting in-house fund management tools that help our Fund Managers deliver outstanding results. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across multiple teams build relationships and contribute to innovative solutions that drive performance and efficiency an exciting role offering exposure to many internal teams within L&G Asset Management
This will require you to have will have proven experience/knowledge of the programming language Python and youll thrive on automating processes and work proactively to problem solve issues for our clients
What youll be doing:
- Providing support on and carrying out development on in-house fund management tools including spreadsheets databases and SQL/VB/VBA-based programs
- Collaborating with Fund Managers and Senior Fund Managers to enhance fund management capabilities
- Participating in ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative research and preparing material for investment reports
- Analysing corporate actions and recommending appropriate responses
- Assisting with client servicing by responding to requests and preparing presentation materials
- Producing regular reports including fund holding attribution and risk reports
- Supporting analysis of portfolio breakdowns transfers index construction and performance attribution
- Automating processes and proactively solving problems for internal stakeholders
Qualifications :
Who were looking for:
- Previous experience of working within Investment Management or finance is preferable however we will also consider candidates with proven programming skills from other industries
- Proven knowledge of Python or demonstrable experience with another coding language is essential
- A demonstrable knowledge of a variety of asset classes with a focus on index preferable
- Experience of developing processes to improve/support client requests
- Have previously reviewed or evaluated index strategies and/or previous experience in evaluating benchmarks.
- Strong investment and financial market knowledge
- Showing creativity in identifying issues and developing solutions
- Being proactive curious and eager to learn and grow
