THE OPPORTUNITY: DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION EDUCATION SERVICES- ELEMENTARY
As the director of instruction for Education Services Elementary you will supervise a group of elementary schools and lead portfolios in collaboration with the education services team including directors and associate superintendents. As an experienced educational leader you will support and mentor principals and vice-principals to meet the diverse needs of students in alignment with VSBs Education Planand Framework for Enhancing Student Learning. A strong understanding of District systems and processes policies and procedures are foundational to the work. You will report to the associate superintendents responsible for elementary schools. This role requires you to focus the majority of your time in schools and programs across the District to support student success. Your home- base will be located at the Education Centre at 1580 West Broadway Vancouver.
We are seeking a passionate and committed educational leader with extensive experience in elementary schools. You are a relational leader with strong communication skills and the ability to problem solve and lead through complex situations. You have varied experience as an elementary teacher across the grades and as a school-based principal and/or District administrator. You have completed graduate work with a focus on educational leadership curriculum inclusive education Indigenous education or a related field.
You have demonstrated a history of innovation and transformative leadership and your knowledge and extensive experience has proven to be a valuable asset in supporting educational excellence. Through your leadership in learning assessment and instructional strategies you contribute to the success of diverse learners. Furthermore your background and experiences play a vital role in assisting schools to support equity inclusion and reconciliation.
As a leader you have been a part of the development and implementation of a strategic vision involving the engagement and involvement of a broad and diverse group of students families inherent rights holders staff and stakeholders. Your passion for teaching and learning as well as your commitment to ensuring that all students have access to the necessary conditions resources and support for success should be evident from your experiences as an educational leader.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
The compensation package will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The salary range for the position is $191937 to $213264.
