The Team Leader is responsible for managing day to day Team performance with management of vendors to make sure that on time delivery capacity and split of volumes is safeguarded as well as ad hoc quotes / capacity needs are obtained.

Job purpose

• Manages and organizes an Inland Delivery Team with several direct reports:

• managing day to day Team performance management of vendors for on time delivery capacity and split of volumes as per procurement logic
• commercial orientation (such as cost savings and customer expectation fulfilment)
• number of direct reports : 8 FTE

• Provides analysis of day to day execution cycles to ensure that required capacity has been delivered
• Initiates improvement plans where business are falling short of either on time delivery requirements or in the provision of required capacity
• Coordinates between internal departments and brings the needed logistic knowledge
• Periodic troubleshooting when internal processes (eg payments) lead to Maersk not meeting its commitments to vendors
• Working with the execution teams to ensure vendor assignments are in line with the overall procurement strategy
• Secures Ad-hoc quotes and capacity for physical inland products as required

Key responsibilities

• Lead inspire and grow the Inland Execution Associates and Coordinators within the team
• Drive a customer centric team which focusses on on-time delivery stable inland networks and improving the customer experience through structural improvements together with the team and other departments
• Create a cost-conscious mindset in the team driving down cost through removal of waste in the process and optimizing operations
• Create a process improvement mindset in the team and has a drive to steer the team to work as productive and efficient as possible
• Generate and drive ideas to contribute to the inland growth agenda developing new inland delivery processes business opportunities and inland products
• Drive a connect with the Global Inland Delivery community
• Challenge and drive improvement of global process standards
• Promote and drives cross functional projects and initiatives between different operational department and commercial areas to improve our business
• Build strong working relationships with key internal- external stakeholders like customer service managers vendors and inland terminals to continuously improve the operating standards between Delivery team and them
• Be part of the larger inland Delivery management team and connect the daily operations with upstream improvements
• Lead and demonstrate a positive mindset towards the implementation of new systems and platforms
