Allied Reliability is seeking Safety Coordinator to work with the Enviornmental team support the Health and Safety portion of the HSE office for chemical plant operations.
Key factors on this role would be:
Manage the procurement and inventory of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure employees have appropriate and functional gear.
Deliver safety orientation and training for all new hires and provide ongoing training to staff on safety best practices and regulatory compliance.
Organize and lead weekly safety meetings to engage staff and address current and emerging safety issues.
Oversee and ensure compliance with permit-required operations including:
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
Hot Work Permits
Confined Space Permits
Conduct risk assessments facilitateProcess Hazard Analyses (PHA) and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programsas applicable.
Interpret and enforce relevant codes and standards including NFPA fire codes NFPA 70E/70B and OSHA regulations.
Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) safety and hazardous materials transport regulations.
Maintain safety documentation and records in accordance with local state and federal requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
OSHA 30-Hour Certification (General Industry or Construction)
Familiarity with EPA and other environmental health and safety regulations is a plus.
Ability to work in a team environment; demonstrate self-motivated attitude.
Strong verbal/written organization and communication skills
Prior Chemical experience is required.
Must pass drug/background/physical screenings.
Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management or industrial safety role
Proven experience with incident investigation root cause analysis and hazard control
Effective communicator and leader with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and other safety management software s.
