Project Safety Manager
Summary
NGi is seeking a Project Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across multiple job sites and branches. This role is responsible for coordinating training ensuring compliance and advising on best practices to promote a safe and healthy work environment. The Safety Manager will conduct safety audits deliver training and partner with field teams to proactively identify risks and implement solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary EHS contact for assigned regions/projects.
- Partner with superintendents to ensure safety requirements are met on all projects.
- Conduct regular job site safety audits and follow through on corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations identify root causes and share lessons learned.
- Develop and implement project-specific Safety Manuals.
- Ensure compliance with NGi Safety Policies GC requirements and federal/state/local regulations.
- Foster a culture of safety through strong relationships with GCs subcontractors and field teams.
- Support hazard planning for high-risk activities.
- Oversee safety of second-tier subcontractors.
- Manage safety documentation reporting and supply levels.
- Act as liaison with GCs subcontractors insurers unions and regulatory agencies.
- Provide coaching mentoring and conflict resolution within the safety team.
- Participate in Operations Safety Committees Foremens meetings and other teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related field or 5 years of relevant field experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Safety Manager experience required.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to coach mentor and influence teams.
- Strong conflict resolution project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced noisy environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related safety software.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Set clear expectations and monitor team performance.
- Provide coaching and motivation to drive results.
- Resolve conflicts and administer discipline when needed.
