Overview

Come join our HR Team as a Human Resources Employment Representative (HR Representative I or II) for Utah State University!

Our Human Resources Employment Representatives answer questions alleviate concerns and solve problems via phone email and/or in-person for employees job applicants staff and administrators in areas of employment Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and job advertising. In addition to employment our representatives staff the HR Solution Center which provides customer service on a full range of HR topics including benefits HRIS I-9s and employment verifications.

Responsibilities

Job Advertising (50% of time)

  • Request advertising for job postings through our advertising partner and coordinate approvals with the USU departments
  • Complete invoicing and reconciliation for job advertising
  • Run reports and analyze data on various methods of job advertising

ATS Administration and Reporting (20% of time)

  • Research job related information and edit job advertisements in a consistent format.
  • Approve job advertisements to be posted on .
  • Assist faculty and staff users in navigating the ATS website.
  • Assist applicants with troubleshooting the ATS website.

Solution Center Representative (20% of time)

  • Respond to telephone calls emails and walk-in customers to provide assistance with the Banner human resources information system (Banner HRIS) employment eligibility and status benefits etc. as a member of the HR Solution Center.

Additional Duties (10% of time)

  • Maintain Veterans Preference program
  • Administer the USU Employee Discount webpage
  • Assist with collecting letters of recommendation for assigned faculty searches
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • For HR Representative I:
    • One year of experience in a professional office setting or human resources office is required.
  • For HR Representative II:
    • Two years of related Human Resources experience; or an associate degree/business administration certificate
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Banner and/or iCIMS
  • Technical writing skills
  • Experience with Human Resource functions

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Human Resources Representatives must have the ability to act professionally when encountering customers who at times may be frustrated or upset.
  • Ability to respond to requests and questions regarding personnel and payroll matters within identified parameters.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of records and information.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to complex human resource issues.
  • Ability to work with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on projects independently and as a part of a team.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions while working on various projects.
  • Routinely process highly confidential and sensitive personnel records in a professional and confidential manner.
