Oracle AWS RDS Database Administrator

Position Summary:

Trillion Technology Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Database Administrator to lead the planning administration and modernization of FAAs Oracle AWS RDS database environments. This position supports infrastructure management reporting capacity planning system optimization and integration activities within FAA mission-critical systems. This position requires expertise in systems analysis cloud database architecture and full lifecycle support of enterprise-class systems.

Responsibilities:

Conduct systems analysis to ensure a complete and accurate accounting of all FAA infrastructure resources with emphasis on Oracle RDS environments hosted in AWS.

Develop and maintain a monthly Infrastructure Management Report detailing database availability performance metrics capacity utilization and risks.

Perform strategic capacity planning to forecast infrastructure requirements and resource allocations over 1- 3- and 5-year periods.

Provide infrastructure support services for Oracle RDS databases including configuration patching performance tuning and availability monitoring.

Analyze FAA system requirements and design effective scalable database solutions to meet business and technical objectives.

Develop and maintain system documentation SOPs data flows and architecture diagrams in accordance with FAA policies and standards.

Coordinate with FAA stakeholders data owners and application teams to integrate Oracle RDS solutions with broader system components (including GFE and external data partners).

Support modernization efforts technical upgrades and enhancement planning ensuring forward compatibility and performance stability.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Systems or a related technical discipline.

At least 8 years of experience in enterprise IT with a strong focus on systems analysis database design and infrastructure planning.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle database administration including 2 years managing AWS RDS for Oracle.

Experience developing technical reports planning documentation and system analyses for federal IT systems.

Strong understanding of AWS database management tools cloud monitoring (e.g. CloudWatch RDS Performance Insights) and resource utilization metrics.

Proficiency in SQL PL/SQL and scripting for automation or reporting (e.g. Python Bash AWS CLI).

Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams synthesize complex technical concepts and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Database - Specialty Solutions Architect Associate/Professional).

Experience supporting FAA systems especially with Spectrum programs infrastructure modernization or enterprise data integration.

Familiarity with FAAs IT governance security and GFE tracking practices.

Experience developing or maintaining infrastructure SOPs lifecycle plans or cloud architecture documents for federal agencies.
