Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to ensure a safe efficient reliable and cost-effective operation through proper safeguards operation and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

  • Responsible for keeping safety first for yourself and your co-workers
    Manage a maintenance team of cross-functional millwrights mechanics and electricians
    Work in close coordination with EHS Manager and the Safety Plus system to eliminate all safety risk
    Responsible for prioritizing and coordinating all daily shutdown and repair activities for the facility
    Responsible for control of repair parts inventory to optimize cash flow and insure availability of repair parts
    Focus on establishing and maintaining plant repair budget
  • Emphasis on CMMS system integration and implementation as well as the ability to effectively manage and optimize CMMS tools
  • Focus on reliability and accountability both in terms of job performance and in setting a strong example for the team
  • Highlighting the importance of work ethic and a genuine willingness to contribute to the success of the company as a maintenance manager.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Leadership capabilities particularly in managing personnel driving team performance and maintaining a positive and productive work environment
  • A clear role in advocating for the business and representing the maintenance department as a reliable accountable leader.
    Effectively manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs
    Look for opportunities to improve safety current process and minimize maintenance costs
    Willing to work beyond schedules to resolve problems projects and emergency repairs
    Prepare estimates and complete appropriation requests for capital funds
    Develop manage and complete capital projects
    Coordinate and direct contractor safety insurance compliance and activities to insure timely and cost-effective completion of projects
    Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    A strong commitment and focus on safety with zero tolerance for short cuts
    Degree in mechanical and/or electrical engineering or equivalent work experience
    Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a heavy industrial maintenance environment
    Previous managerial leadership experience preferred
    Self-directed individual. Ability to work with minimal supervision and achieve results
    Strong root cause analysis with excellent problem-solving skills
    Good communication skills team development skills with a desire to lead with team input
    Strong leadership abilities resulting in a productive and driven team environmentEmphasis on CMMS system integration and implementation as well as the ability to effectively manage and optimize CMMS tools

    Competitive Salary which includes a general salary range of $111744.00 to $139680.00 or higher depending on education and experience.
