Solution Validation Services (SVS) is an organization within our clients Customer Experience (CX) focused on validating complex customer-specific networks and accelerating adoption of new technologies and solutions. The SVS team has expertise across the breadth of the Cisco product portfolio along with extensive expertise in a variety of third-party and competitive products. In addition the team is focused on validating complex customer-specific networks and accelerating adoption of new technologies and solutions.
As a SVS Test Engineer this role will support the following activities:
- Engage with customers and other stakeholders on planning and execution of validation engagements.
- Support next generation ACI and Data Center for Enterprise and Service Provider customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.
- Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Drive requirements discussions analyze test requirements build test lab configurations author and execute test plans and document results.
- Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
- Develop/integrate new technologies into lab environments.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams regarding future initiatives and securing customer business.
- Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.
- Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Skills:
- Candidates must have deep technical expertise with Core routing and switching SDA and Nexus Data Center technologies and preferably Cloud technologies.
- Strong base knowledge with C8500 C9400 C3950 as well as C9800 WLC with 91xx Aps C9400 SVL running IIOS-XE and Cisco UCS
- Extensive knowledge of Red Hat Hypervisor and OpenShift ISE
- Strong familiarity with SPIRENT traffic generator
- Experience in the following: Layer 2 CDP STP UDLD; Layer 3 OSPF; and SNMP Syslog AAA EAP/TLS as well as Routing & Switching
- Candidates must also have strong customer interaction and consulting skills.
- Must be able to articulate complex concepts in easy-to-understand language.
- Must be proficient in customer facing discussions as well as the technologies listed above.
- Programming experience/familiarity (Jupyter Notebook preferred / Python / Robot Framework)
- Test and validation experience (hardware or software)
Desired Skills:
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills (written verbal and formal presentation)
- Knowledge of Industry Test Tools
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex network problems
- Typically requires BS plus 4-5 years related experience or a MS with 2-3 years of related experience.
