General Summary:
The Warehouse Associate supports daily warehouse operations including the receipt storage sorting and dispatch of home appliances and other large-format goods. This role helps maintain a safe and organized environment while following all safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Working closely with warehouse and delivery teams the Associate helps ensure inventory accuracy assists with load-in/load-out processes and supports seamless six-day delivery operations. They will independently manage operations at least one day per week and may interact directly with customers or act as a backup to the Dispatcher/Customer Care team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive sort store and dispatch inbound and outbound shipments ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Perform cycle counts and use WMS to track reconcile and log returned or undeliverable items within 48 hours supporting 99% inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean organized and compliant warehouse environment by following all safety protocols and equipment handling standards.
- Prepare and load appliances for delivery ensuring proper sequencing (e.g. last stop loaded first) in collaboration with delivery teams and logistics partners.
- Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks and stackers.
- Secure appliances and bulky goods for transport using appropriate tools (e.g. straps blankets dollies wraps) to prevent damage.
- Support vehicle readiness by checking truck cleanliness assisting with inspections and reporting maintenance needs.
- Respond to driver inquiries help resolve on-site issues and share feedback with the Driver Happiness team.
- Act as a backup to the Dispatcher/Customer Care team as needed providing professional communication with customers.
- Follow hazardous materials handling and recycling protocols in accordance with Canadian regulations.
- Report lost stolen or damaged inventory with photo documentation and assist in preparing accurate paperwork (e.g. BOL POD) for freight claims.
- Uphold company standards for appearance conduct and customer-facing interactions.
- Perform additional duties and assigned projects as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse or related experience with proven reliability and safety record.
- Working knowledge of inventory systems logistics processes and warehouse operations.
- Experience with material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts pallet jacks ratchet straps); forklift certification is an asset.
- Understanding of appliance handling and hazardous material safety procedures.
- Ability to follow SOPs and maintain a safe compliant work environment.
- Bilingual (English and French) with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional team-oriented and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Able to stay calm under pressure problem-solve on the spot and adapt to changing demands.
- Proficient with MS Word Excel PowerPoint Adobe tools and email platforms.
- Flexible with work hours including evenings and extended shifts as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with co-workers drivers and leadership teams.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift carry and maneuver heavy items such as large appliances.
- Repetitive physical tasks include standing walking bending and climbing stairs.
- Use of manual tools and equipment during loading/unloading and staging.
- Physically capable of working extended hours in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed on-site in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
- Schedules may include daytime evening and weekend shifts.
- The warehouse operates six days a week (Monday to Saturday) with potential for seven-day operations depending on business needs.
- Extended shifts or rotation coverage may be required during peak periods.
