Job Title: ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Product Owner
Location: Grand Rapids MI
Employment Type: Contract (M-W onsite; Th - F remote)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ServiceNow SPM Product Owner to lead the design enhancement and delivery of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management solutions. This role serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams driving the evolution of the ServiceNow platform to meet organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring 25 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow SPM a strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and a passion for delivering data-driven scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Ownership & Roadmap Development:
Define product vision and strategy for ServiceNow SPM capabilities.
Create and maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned with business and engineering goals.
Oversee full lifecycle deliveryfrom concept through deploymentof new SPM features and enhancements.
Develop and refine user stories acceptance criteria and product documentation.
Lead bi-annual testing and upgrade planning for SPM modules.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:
Partner with business users architects developers and Scrum Masters to gather and translate requirements into actionable tasks.
Conduct stakeholder demos gather feedback and iterate on functionality.
Facilitate alignment across technical and non-technical teams regarding product timelines and expectations.
Technical Oversight:
Provide subject matter expertise on SPM modules such as Demand Resource Enterprise Agile Planning and Waterfall.
Support configuration workflow design and solution customization aligned with ServiceNow best practices.
Participate in UAT and ensure quality delivery that meets business objectives and technical standards.
Qualifications:
Experience: 25 years of experience working with the ServiceNow platform specifically Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM).
Methodologies: Proficiency in Agile (Scrum Kanban) and Waterfall; experience working within SDLC frameworks.
Technical: Understanding of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) reporting/dashboard capabilities and data governance within ServiceNow.
Preferred Certifications:
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
Certified Implementation Specialist SPM
Agile certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner SAFe Agilist Kanban System Design)
