Within the Engineering cluster the Naval business unit is collaborating within the Thales group on the development of combat and information management systems for navy ships integration with sensor- and weapon systems as well as the development of sensor processing applications. These complex systems contain advanced solutions for information processing information management and the user interaction with both sensor and effector systems.
Our product called TACTICOS offers essential support for missions varying from anti-piracy to ballistic missile defense. TACTICOS has been designed to fully support the command team in each stage of a naval operation. This includes assessing and monitoring the tactical situation planning and coordinating actions as well as controlling integrated sensors and weapons.
The capabilities within TACTICOS are unrivaled and based on recognized expertise as applied for various European Asian and American customers.
Your role
As a Software Product Owner you are responsible to create and maintain the backlog for the new features developed for our product - TACTICOS. You will be part of a multidisciplinary Agile team responsible for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the development team.

There is a lot of variety in products or components to be developed and delivered and therefore projects include Software Development Test Automation and DevOps Engineers Architects and Scrum Masters. You will be also supporting the architects and engineers in making the right design choices. You will also do part of the product planning and you will support the Project Manager in overall planning resource management and estimation.
You will have contact with various departments within the application development departments such as Interface Products CMS Apps Platforms Sensors Product and System Engineering but also with supply chain and purchasing. You will work together with teams located in Romania and in close collaboration with partners in The Netherlands. You are expected to project positive attitude while establishing effective professional relationships and communicating proactively with all stakeholders.
What are we looking for

You are a driven Agile Product Owner with 5 years of hands-on experience who finds enjoyment and motivation in insuring delivery of complex software products and solutions. You are able to simplify and break down problems in a context where the functional area is complex. You know Agile frameworks Scrum Kanban and have an Agile culture knowing how to develop a product vision based on deep understanding of the domain and customer needs. You have knowledge of software development (and testing) and know how to apply configuration management. The ability to prioritize tasks according to their value is important alongside managing your squads workload.
As communication and collaboration are key success factors you need to have good communication skills and you are able to create a good working relationship between various stakeholders such as the development teams the Project and Product Manager and the Chief Product Owner. You are a team player with strong dedication to achieve common team goals and an energetic person with demonstrated leadership competencies who approach work with enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
Preferably you have a bachelor or master degree in computer science system or network engineering IT service management or comparable and have spent some years as individual contributor in these areas;
An important requirement to fulfil this role is flexibility and the ability to communicate efficiently in English to all types (technical management) of stakeholders. You are willing to work for in The Netherlands for a period of a couple of weeks up to 4 months for the purpose of knowledge transfer.
