You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Medical Assistant works under the supervision of providers and the Director of Outpatient Services in a behavioral health outpatient clinic. This role provides both clinical and administrative support within the scope of practice in compliance with agency policies procedures and applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
Welcoming and checking in clients preparing them for visits verifying information and assisting with obtaining medical histories and other relevant information.
Scheduling appointments maintaining medical records processing insurance certifications and obtaining prior authorizations.
Performing routine clerical tasks proofreading and editing materials for accuracy and managing front desk operations.
Conducting interviews as needed to collect clinical information recording medical history vital signs and test results in the medical record.
Authorizing medication refills and providing prescription information to pharmacies as directed.
Preparing and administering medications explaining treatment plans medications and instructions to clients and assisting providers with exams and treatments.
Performing or assisting with injections laboratory specimen collection and inventory of medical equipment and supplies.
The Medical Assistant must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to serve clients of all ages assess and interpret client needs and deliver appropriate care and service.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalentrequired. Completion of a medical assisting program recognized and accredited by theCommission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or theAccrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Active certification by Associationof Medical Assistants. Certifications required: CPR First Aid. Completion of externshiprequired. At least six months experience as certified medical assistant be able to type at least 40 wpm. Computer knowledge required with experience in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint preferred. Customer service writing and communication skills.
