Summary:
Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts(VCUarts) Department of Music is establishing a pool of applicants for possibleadjunct teaching positions. This pool of applicants could be drawn upon toprovide temporary staffing when needed; to provide special teaching expertisewhen needed; and/or to meet special programmatic needs not otherwise providedfor within the program.
Given these criteria this pool will only be assessed when an adjunctopportunity arises. Possible adjunct opportunities could include teaching acourse(s) in any of the areas of study offered by the Department of Music. Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in Music or Music Education.
Experience instructing applied lessons from beginner to advanced levels.
Willingness to recruit as needed assist with semesterly assessments and helpsupport the Music departments vision and student growth.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters Degree in Music Music Education MusicTheory or a related field.
Appropriate teaching experience and/or strong oral presentation andcommunication skills.
Demonstratedexperience working in and fostering an environment of respect professionalismand civility with a population of faculty staff and students from variousbackgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so as a faculty member atVCU.
Demonstrated skills and experience in one or more areas of expertise inVoice Winds and Percussion Strings Piano Jazz and other relevant areas.
