The Application Services Branch of the Edmonton Police Service requires one (1) Applications Analyst who is self-motivated and an organized individual with exceptional technical and interpersonal skills to support applications and integrations between critical systems. Responsibilities will include:
- Provide support and maintenance to custom developed components of systems vendor delivered applications web-based systems and integrations/interfaces between systems used throughout EPS.
- Lead technical activities on prioritized projects and programs
- Troubleshooting issues with the systems and providing preventative maintenance on various applications.
- Planning prioritizing scheduling estimating work and executing all modifications required to support applications.
- Designing developing configuring implementing and supporting various applications and integrations.
- Providing technical expertise involving all phases of research feasibility design development data conversion plans implementation and support of software applications and integrations.
- Supporting and maintaining various client-server applications.
- Ensuring that all of the desktop/server/web application problems are addressed in a timely matter.
- Designing developing implementing and supporting integrations and applications (using SQL C# Python FME and Microsoft PowerPlatform).
- Working collaboratively with all members of the IT Branch to address application and integration issues in a timely manner.
- Working collaboratively with other EPS units to find solutions for business problems through process or by use of software.
- Creating system documentation including data models systems designs and operation support documents.
- Providing training to users and performing related duties as required.

- Degree in a related discipline and four (4) years relevant experience OR Post secondary diploma in a related discipline and five (5) years relevance experience OR one (1) year related certificate and seven (7) years relevant experience.
- Minimum of four (4) year providing application support. Experience providing 24x7 on-call support to a mission-critical application or system would be an asset.
- Minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible experience in the following: programming systems analysis and design process and data modeling designing and developing applications Microsoft OR C#.
- Experience in the following would be considered an asset: FME Microsoft PowerPlatform Web API Rest / Soap APIs JavaScript C# CSS Bootstrap Unit Testing Active Directory Azure DevOps Web Content Management System PowerShell & SQL).
- Experience supporting and configuring Microsoft Windows Servers.
- Experience working with SAP Success Factors and / or Workforce Scheduler including implementing configuring and integrating with other applications is an asset.
- Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) or Azure Developer Associate designation is an asset.
- ITIL certification would be an asset.
- Experience supporting cloud-based systems would be an asset.
- Excellent organizational interpersonal verbal and written skills with a strong focus on customer service and the ability to excel within a team environment.
Hours of Work:
33.75 hours per week between 0800-1600 hours Monday Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program. Incumbents must be available for call-out outside of these hours on a rotational basis.
Salary Range:
21M Salary Grade 032: $51.17 - $65.30 (Hourly) $3454.00 - $4407.80 (Bi-Weekly) $90150.51 - $115044.04 (Annually)
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
