Job Summary:
This role involves providing sterile processing services in an inpatient outpatient and trauma setting. The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for the decontamination sterilization assembly and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies. Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties is required and on-call responsibilities are included.

Responsibilities:
- Decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Sterilization of instruments and supplies using various methods.
- Assembly and wrapping of instrument trays and sets.
- Case cart preparation and distribution.
- High-level disinfection (HLD) of equipment.
- Maintaining inventory of supplies.
- Scrubbing in for surgical procedures (as needed).
- Adherence to infection control protocols.
- Experience with Ortho Urology Endo/Laparoscopic Vascular Thoracic Neuro Gyn Bariatrics Plastics Podiatry ENT Transplant Robotics and Implants.
- Ophthalmology experience preferred.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
- Certification as either a CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA formerly IAHCSMM).
- Experience in inpatient outpatient and trauma settings.
- Experience with sterilization decontamination assembly/wrap case cart HLD and scrubbing.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with SPM (Surgical Process Management) software.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- Ophthalmology experience.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities twice per month rotating weekends.
- Weekend work required (one rotating weekend per month possibly two).
- COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions accepted).
- Level II Trauma Center environment.
Scheduling:
- 5x8-hour shifts Monday-Friday.
- One rotating weekend per month possibly two depending on staffing needs.
- Block scheduling not guaranteed; case-by-case consideration possible.
- 40-hour contract.
