Job Summary:
This role is for a Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (CVOR Tech) responsible for assisting surgeons and nurses during cardiovascular surgical procedures. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment performing a variety of tasks related to surgical preparation instrument handling and post-operative care. The position requires collaboration with the surgical team and adherence to strict sterilization and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing the operating room and surgical instruments for procedures.
- Assisting the surgical team during cardiovascular surgeries.
- Maintaining a sterile field and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Handling and managing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping.
- Monitoring vital signs and assisting with post-operative care.
- Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current certification as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (CVOR Tech) or Surgical Technologist (CST).
- BLS certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments equipment and procedures.
- Ability to maintain a sterile field and follow infection control protocols.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in cardiovascular surgery.
- Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Experience with specific cardiovascular surgical techniques.
- ACLS certification.
Special Considerations:
- 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (0700-1900).
- One weekend call per month and one call per week.
- Works in a 23 OR and 1 procedure room environment performing elective and emergency surgeries for adult and pediatric patients.
- First-time travelers are accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.
Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Weekend and on-call rotations are required (one weekend per month and one call per week).
