Working closely with the boys and girls cross country coaches the Marblehead High School assistant cross country coach will assist in leading and motivating a team of high school runners to practice regularly compete at meets and attend fundraising activities. The assistant coach will assist the head coaches in promoting teamwork sportsmanship and respect commitment integrity and responsibility. Below are the essential qualifications requirements and responsibilities of the assistant cross country coach:QUALIFICATIONKnowledge of cross country techniques and communication and people to mentor and motivate athletes providing guidance feedback and support to help them achieve their goalsOrganizational and management skills including the ability to help schedule and plan practices and with cross country rules and running and or coaching cross countryLeads by example regarding the promotion of sportsmanshipMust complete all Massachusetts coaching requirements which includes the NFHS Concussion CertificateMust complete Marblehead School District requirements: Fingerprinting CORI Background checkMust complete CPR/AED and First Aid CertificationPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSBe able to run or ride a bike to monitor runners during practiceBe exposed to heat humidity dust rain snow and other weather and adverse environmental ability to travel between locationsRESPONSIBILITIESMake practice plans and prepare the team to compete in all practices and meets including supervising on the bus to away games.
