Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist 1 to join the team. This role will be Full Time: Monday-Friday 7-330pm or 3 12s @ 7-730pm.

Responsibilities:
- Performs and/or provides scrub assistance during procedures that reflect an awareness of anatomy necessary principles skills supplies and adequate knowledge base.
- Assists the circulating nurse in implementing the perioperative plan of care to include: patient positioning confirmation/preparation of the operative site updating physician preference card care of operative specimens and room turnover.
- Identifies factors relative to the patients age and developmental stage that must be considered during the surgical procedure.
- Assists with pulling cases and checks case carts for completeness obtains supplies and equipment and determines them to be in good working order before a case begins.
- Prepares the operating room by opening sterile supplies instruments and sutures based on the scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.
- Follows policies for scrubbing gowning gloving setting up the back table draping and counting with the circulating nurse.
- Exercises care in the operation and use of instruments/equipment/ and reports/follow the appropriate procedure for broken items.
- Follows OSHA and hospital infection control policies at all times.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working Hours: Monday-Friday 7-330pm or 3 12s @ 7-730pm
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Years of Experience:Preferred: Recent Hospital experience and/or previous practice experience.
- Certification: Basic Life Support-American Heart Association
- License:VirginiaRegistered Surgical Technologist
