Work Schedule:
100% FTE day shift. You will work at University Hospital and the Public Service Commission (PSC) building in Madison WI.

Teach the next generation of surgical technologists at the #1 hospital in Wisconsin!

We are seeking a Program Manager Surgical Technologist Apprenticeship (ST) to:

Supervise and provide academic and employee support to apprentices throughout the three-year ST program.
Collaborate oversee instruct and facilitate clinical and didactic education for apprentices along with Madison College faculty.
Ensure apprentice outcomes align with national standards to receive Surgical Technology degree from Madison College.
Coordinate apprentices schedules with UW Health ST department to enhance apprentices success at UW Health.
Work with community partners to address wrap around support/service needs related to any social determinants.

Education:

Minimum Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) accredited surgical technology program.

Associate degree or technical diploma. If hired with a technical diploma degree must obtain an associate degree within three years.

Preferred Bachelors Degree

Work Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology or a combination of both within the past five years

Preferred 4 years of experience as a formal educator with their CST including instructional experience in the classroom or clinical setting in a higher education system. Prior surgical services experience and/or experience working in an academic medical center or complex healthcare system.

Certifications:
Minimum Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Upon Hire and Basic Life Support/CPR within 6 months
Preferred Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) and Advanced Certifications in Surgical Technology through organizations such as the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
