Job Description

Get to Know the Team

Come join the Consumer Experience - Loyalty Engineering team - we work on a diverse set of regional loyalty problems spanning across defining loyalty levers driving user journeys and experiences in addition to building scalable engineering systems that powers these. We are on an exciting mission to build a world class loyalty program.

Get to Know the Role

You will be responsible for building growing and leading a team of engineers focused on delivering high quality deliverables. You will have opportunities to develop backend & fullstack components. Not only will you get to collaborate with the engineers product business data scientists and program management teams to be on top of your deliverables but you will also serve as a mentor to your teammates to help them grow.

You will report to the Senior Software Engineering Manager and you will be based fully onsite in our Grab Indonesia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Lead a team of mobile backend & QA engineers.
  • Youll participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.
  • Partner with cross functional leaders across product design analytics data science to build the product roadmap set customer-focused metrics and experiment designs.
  • Lead the quarterly/half-yearly planning and build a smooth execution plan with the team for securing the delivery of product and engineering roadmap.
  • Set the engineering strategy and engineering key result targets for the team consistently improve across testability availability security and code quality for your systems and modules.
  • Drive engineering improvements to power new product capabilities and platform improvements.
  • Attract and retain senior engineering talent actively mentor and develop engineering talent in the team and across Grab.
  • Keep your team staffing aligned with business needs and quickly pivot to changing needs.

Qualifications :

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • 8 years of engineering experience on mobile/backend technologies.
  • At least 2 years experience as a people manager with hands-on role in tech solutioning.
  • Demonstrated experience attracting and retaining main talent. Experience mentoring engineers is critical for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring team members to achieve engineering excellence.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitLab etc.)
  • Experience with database design MySQL PostgreSQL
  • Experience deploying code in AWS Azure or Google Cloud environments
