McMan is recruiting for a Digital Literacy Facilitator to join our team to develop digital literacy curriculum facilitate cohorts provide one on one tutoring based on individual learning needs and evaluate and adapt programs as needed. The Digital Literacy Facilitator will support vulnerable populations to understand and use digital systems tools applications in order to access and navigate the digital world.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Some of the key aspects of this role include:
- Develop and adapt digital literacy curriculum
- Facilitate digital literacy curriculum to three learning cohorts and provide one-on-one support as needed
- Provide a holistic learner-centred approach while attending to diversity and the meaningful participation of vulnerable adults
- Incorporate recognized adult learning principles including the enhancement of learner self-esteem and self-advocacy
- Integrate basic literacy and essential skills development into areas of high interest to adults
- Provide pathways for learners to transition successfully from and to related programs or next steps (for example to employment or further learning)
- Collect data and evaluate project effectiveness based on grant requirements
- Develop partnerships with community agencies to facilitate engagement of participants in cohorts
The successful candidate will have:
- Diploma or Degree in Adult Education or Education is preferred other education combined with relevant experience may be considered
- A flexible schedule that can accommodate varying hours based on program delivery schedule and times of learning cohorts
- Demonstrated skill set in working with individuals experiencing homelessness and trauma informed practice
- Awareness of appropriate community resources and services
- Strong writing organizational program planning facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of diversity issues around culture religion gender or sexual identity
- Previous experience in curriculum development facilitating groups tutoring adults and teaching digital literacy skills
- A current (no more than 6 months old) Police Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention check
- Current First Aid Training and Suicide Intervention training

Salary Range: $14930 - $16479 (0.3 FTE)
