Rocketship Public Schools TN seeks a mission-driven innovative collaborative student focused and community-centered Culture Manager. The Campus Culture Lead reports directly to the schools Principal and serves as a critical member of the schools team.

The Campus Culture Lead is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe healthy and supportive environment and school culture that synthesizes the intellectual physical social emotional and character development of our students.

The Campus Culture Lead helps to create and sustain a culture of high expectations and continual support for all teachers and students as well as promoting and enforcing a school environment that is professional and respectful of others. The Culture Lead will support and coach teachers and staff with implementation of culture and management practices across the campus.

Culture Manager Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Supports the Student Success Team process and meetings when applicable to culture and behavior
    • Support Instructional Leadership Team with implementation and maintenance of systems and best practices for staff regarding clear expectations and standards for joyful learning environments.
    • Be a regular presence in classrooms to observe teaching and learning and provide feedback and coaching to teachers with a specific focus on student engagement and classroom management best practices.
    • Zealous leadership advocacy and responsibility for consistent implementation of school wide culture.
    • Co-lead culture-related professional development programs for all faculty and staff with the Instructional Leadership Team.
    • Manage the systems to collect and share data on school-wide culture trends analysis and action planning for Tier 2 and Tier 3 needs.
    • Support coaching and alignment to pivotal parts of the daily school day in collaboration with the Business Operations Manager (e.g. arrival/dismissal lunch and recess) to ensure safety and high quality student and family experience.
    • Foster and maintain a school culture where diversity is encouraged where professionalism is practiced and where students learn to respect differences take responsibility for their actions and exercise integrity and leadership.
    • Sustains an articulated school culture dedicated to supporting the whole student and their family ensuring that all school practices are strengths- based trauma informed and culturally responsive.
    • Lead the school community in meeting the school- wide goal of retaining 90% of students each year. Create and lead intervention strategies that promote a culture of success and reduce student attrition.
    • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

Student Discipline:

    • Improve and implement the schools discipline system and other structures necessary to promote student achievement both inside and outside the classroom.
    • Develop systems and structures to limit the time spent on reactive student discipline through ensuring consistent implementation of research-based best practices in supporting high levels of student engagement belonging and success in classrooms.
    • Supports faculty in implementing student support and behavior intervention systems that maintain a strengths- based trauma-informed and culturally responsive mindset.
    • Support the Student Success Team in identifying and supporting students who are struggling behaviorally or emotionally. Develop and implement programs to promote positive student behavior.
    • Maintain accurate discipline and behavior records including producing contracts with students and parents and sharing monthly student discipline reports with the leaders and staff.

Qualifications:

    • Experience in leading teams to meet or exceed qualitative and quantitative goals/outcomes
    • 4 years of classroom-based teaching experience with a demonstrated track record of student success via academic outcomes
    • Some leadership experience focused on culture programming people development and systems
    • Experience in developing processes that drives teacher growth in classroom culture management and student engagement thereby yielding positive academic outcomes
    • Experience collaborating with team members and providing constructive and instructive feedback
    • Ability to work both on board-based strategy and everyday details and assess the need to change prioritiesIndependent self starter with a strong focus on both teacher and student development
    • Proficiency in using technology in the classroom to enhance student learningDeep commitment to serving all students with an asset based mindset
    • Ability to build a shared vision and inspire commitment to a mission
    • Ability to build relationships with a diverse staff and parent community
    • Ability to plan in a manner that anticipates barriers and recognizes needs school-wide
    • Strong collaboration with others and the willingness to solicit input prior to developing strategies and solutions
    • Ability to motivate and influence others to achieve excellence in the workplace
    • Ability to think critically and reflectively and to prioritize effectively

$54048 - $70940 a year

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.

Compensation:
